The 2025 Patriots Pack the Pantry food drive was a resounding success. Sponsored by the S2S club, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Honor Society, our Patriot families donated 964 items for the Woodland UMC Food Pantry! Superintendent Dr. Keith Lankford will provide a general overview of our schools, highlighting academic achievements and our state report card during the November 17th Board of Education Work Session.

This growth and continued success are a reflection of the dedication of our administrators, teachers, board members, and families, but most of all, the hard work of our students. Every Pike Road school earned a spot on the A–B Honor Roll and maintained or gained points from last year.

Last week, our learners combined ELA skills on literary devices with Social Studies knowledge of Medieval Europe and the Black Death from the A+ College Ready curriculum to analyze allegory, tone, and symbolism in Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Masque of the Red Death.”
Inspired by Poe’s use of symbolism, students got creative by decorating their own plague masks with symbols representing the Black Death. What a fun way to mix literature, history, and Halloween spirit!
